Jessica is back in the news, and this time it's not related to her breakup! Apparently Ms. Simpson is not as ditzy as she would have us believe, and the Bush clan is throwing a tantrum about it. Simpson's decision to NOT appear as a Republican supporter at their fund-raising dinner was met with toddler tantrum comments including "It's never been a problem for Bono" (read But Bono does it!) and "Simpson is currently featured wearing cowboy boots and hot pants in a TV pizza ad" (read well, if she wears hot pants we don't want her ANYWAY!). The Republicans look stupid (again) and Jessica, for once, looks like the smart blonde. GO JESS! Great handbags AND dissing Republicans...I think I'm in love! Photo courtesy of AOL

I have to say that I was on Team Nick before this incident and after watching Newlyweds, but the scales are tipping the other way now.
I think Newlyweds doomed their marriage from the start (and being on the cover of InStyle Weddings...everyone on that cover has divorced--newbies pending), but Nick tended to be mean to Jessica on the show. Sure, she brought it on herself by looking like an idiot, but now that I read more about her, it seems that he never let her be responsible for anything. Her parents were the same way.
