About Me
- Name: ET
- Location: apparently Owasso, Oklahoma
I am a Manhattan girl currently trapped in Oklahoma. It is "T minus about two years" before my reprieve. In the meantime I must vent my frustrations at the lack of Sephora, Tiffany, Brownstones, the subway system, and virtually everything else NYC.

How is the leather- it is a little firm or is it really soft and supple with no form....just curious because my scout bag is really slouchy and soft....where did you get it by the way???
The leather is exactly like the leather on my Hogan Weekend bag...butter soft and slouchy. It almost "puddles" when you set it down if there is any weight in it. Of course, this particular Scout is in the smoother leather rather than the pebbled, which makes it more supple.
I purchased it from the Hogan store in Miami, Florida. Hogan has two U.S. stores...the flagship in NYC and the Miami store.
Which bag do you have and where did you find it? They are hard to come by! I was on the list for this one before they even arrived...definitely worth the wait!
I got my bag off of styledrops - it a brown scout. I couldn't be happier with it...it doesn't look like every other bag out there. The slouch factor makes it so casual and it is so roomy and lightweight, which I was suprised about because it has so much metal. I am not sure if anyone out there shares this thought, but everytime I get a bag, I always think of what could make it better inside - like pockets close to the entry buckle to get to wallet or cell phone, a keyfob snapped inside for easy access and maybe a back pocket to shove stuff in. I guess this would make the bags even more expensive. I posted a comment in your earlier Hogan section- check it out. I am curious to hear your thoughts! I enjoy your site very much. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! = )
I do the same thing with my bags. I like that the Scout has a cell phone pocket...a cell phone pocket and a zipper pocket are a must, as is easy accessibility (I don't buckle the straps). I love the Chloe bags for fall, but who has time to unlock, unstrap, and basically disassemble a bag every time you need to get inside?
I have a Coach bag from last year that was the "IT" bag...the pink and grey checked wool satchel with burgundy leather/suede/patent trim. It has a pocket on the front that fastens closed by is easily accessible for cell phone, a zip top, inside pockets, small zip pocket on the back, and a full length back pocket. It is the most functional bag I have, and I love it. But I want a bigger bag with less structure right now...and I LOVE my Scout! I saw a fall preview Hogan bag that looks like the Scout but with no straps and buckles, but that one isn't "doing it" for me.
