I am a Manhattan girl currently trapped in Oklahoma. It is "T minus about two years" before my reprieve. In the meantime I must vent my frustrations at the lack of Sephora, Tiffany, Brownstones, the subway system, and virtually everything else NYC.

And for those of us that are on movie kicks and don't have a house and thus don't care about watching HGTV, where is this?
Lake Lure, NC. I actually don't watch much HGTV now, but when we lived in an apartment I used to watch all the time...sort of live vicariously through them. I have never been to NC, and it's a bit South for my taste, but if we were to win this house (the actual "unveiling" is New Year's Day 2006) with a view of the lake framed between mountains (this photo is the best I could find...the actual view is much more amazing) I would go in a heartbeat.
There is no place better than Manhattan. having lived in the outposts a looooooooong time, I can assure you of that. Even beautiful scenery gets boring. Manhattan, never. Hurry home.
